Children’s Choir offers an opportunity for Incarnation’s children to be active leaders in worship in addition to receiving choral training and enjoying fun and fellowship with each other.
During the school year, these second through sixth graders sing at the 9 a.m. Traditional Service in the Church approximately every other Sunday, singing anthems and motets with and without the adult choir. The Children’s Choir rehearses in the Choir Room at 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pizza is provided before rehearsal at 5 p.m. (parents contribute to cover the cost).
We incorporate the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM America) curriculum into our rehearsals. The RSCM, which was formed in 1927 in England by Sir Sydney Nicholsen, organist of Westminster Abbey, supports musical literacy, fosters the English choral tradition, models good vocal production and offers challenges to choristers in which they can earn awards throughout the course of the program.
The Children’s Choir is led by Incarnation parishioner and Choir Section Leader, Robin Cate.
The Cherub Choir (4yrs – Grade 1) rehearses every Wednesday from 5 to 5:30 pm. Our youngest kids sing at the 9 a.m. Family Traditional Service every 6-8 weeks. Pizza is provided after rehearsal (parents contribute to cover the cost).
