Tuesday Noon Bible Study
We will use Bonhoeffer’s landmark work, Discipleship, to explore what it means to follow Jesus Christ. It means, quite simply, yet quite profoundly, to surrender our worship of all our sacred securities: secular, religious, economic, familial, reputational. In that surrender, discipleship becomes possible. Bonhoeffer states that ever more clearly: “Every call of Christ leads into death.” In that death is life. Such is the blessed paradox of life in Christ.
About the Teacher
David Krause, a Dallas native, was ordained as a Lutheran pastor in 1974 and served at the parish, seminary and national levels. He holds a Master of Divinity degree and a Doctor of Ministry degree. He is on the Board of the International Bonhoeffer Society. He and Cynthia have been members of Incarnation since 1996.
