Theology Live: Kathleen Durham

Theology Live: A Theology of Common Sense

Theology is not necessarily a field reserved for super-Christians with post-graduate degrees. In fact, contemporary authors and Christian apologists, G. K. Chesterton and C. S. Lewis, did not have theology degrees. Both emphasized the importance of common sense both in explaining Christianity to others and in responding to/refuting the prevailing philosophies and politics of their times. Kathleen Durham explains what this “common sense” looks like and how can it help us understand and share our faith better?

Kathleen Durham is the co-director of the C.S. Lewis Institute – Dallas, a ministry devoted to raising up wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ who are able to articulate, defend, share and live out their faith in both public and private life. She is passionate about literature, languages and above all helping people have a deeper understanding and experience of God’s goodness and love through Scripture.   She is a graduate of Belmont University (Spanish, Italian), Georgetown University (Masters and A.B.D. in Spanish and Portuguese Literature and Cultural Studies), and the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics, Oxford University. In her spare time, she loves good meals and long conversations with friends and leading the Bilingual Book Club at her favorite local haunt, the Wild Detectives.
