We are stewards of your stories.

This is a new chapter in our story together. Our church stands, for all who pass by it, as a visible symbol of and witness to God’s saving presence in the world.

Each of us has the opportunity to see and feel the world through God’s grace — to experience the hope and future as He has planned it. All that we bring and all that we do is imperfect, but made perfect when united with the ministry of Christ.

We are more than just a place of worship. God has placed His hand upon this church calling us to be leaders in our local and global communities. Jesus is alive in the ministry of Incarnation, and it is our shared responsibility to grow disciples and serve the poor.

The future of God’s Kingdom depends on you and me.

This is our story!

Pray. Plan. Pledge.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Thank you for all you have done to support the mission of the Church of the Incarnation in the past year. We continue to witness more and faster growth than we have in our 130-year history.

Of course with so much expansion, the church has never been more expensive to operate, and currently our giving is lagging our growth. It is often said, but bears repeated hearing: the church is not the buildings but the buildings are critical tools for mission. To bring them to life we have to heat, cool, clean, and maintain 180,000 square feet, and that’s not cheap.

The financial need is greater than ever, and we need your help.

Our church stands as a beacon of hope in our community, and it fills me with joy to see what Christ is doing here. The reach of Incarnation and its ministries could fill a book. You’ll see such stories throughout the fall.

Let me share just a few examples. Your giving this past year has helped to disrupt the cycles of poverty, drug, and gang culture that plague the lives of hundreds of our young neighbors by:

  • Providing positive role models for mostly fatherless children through Reading Buddies and Man Up.
  • Giving the girls at Maya Angelou High School for pregnant teens encouragement and necessities for caring for their new babies.
  • Preparing students for college admissions tests.
  • Ensuring at-risk students from North Dallas High School get the help they need to enter four-year universities to continue their education.

This is only a small sample of what you are achieving in one area of our church’s mission, and it calls each of us to prayerfully consider how we can increase our support.

When you make your decision to pledge, think about the significance you want your life to have, and the change you want to see in the world. I know your money and time are stretched across many priorities, but what is more important than sacrificially witnessing to the saving and transforming grace of Jesus Christ? There is no escaping the reality that it takes sacrifice to create change.

I hope you’ll join Anna and me as we make financially supporting the critical mission of this place a priority for our family.

This comes with warm good wishes in Christ.

+ Tony

How does my commitment to Incarnation support our ministries and God’s call?

The church takes its responsibilities toward proper stewardship of your gifts very seriously and wants complete transparency in those endeavors. Below is an information graphic that illustrates how the operating budget is divided among each ministry of the church. If you have additional questions about how the budget is allocated to the ministry departments, please contact the Business office at (214) 521-5101. All of Church of the Incarnation’s ministries and programs reflect our core values of worship, growth, service and leadership. The Church’s operating budget is funded almost entirely by the annual commitments of parishioners. Additional sources of revenue include special gifts from parishioners.

Sources of Funds

$4,040,000 — Your Stewardship Campaign Commitments
$1,049,000 — Other Gifts
$240,000 – Borrow from reserves
$5,329,000 — Total income (projected) for 2016

Budgeted Use of Funds

This chart and the figures indicate how the church’s funds are divided among its ministry areas. The expenses include salaries and benefits for staff, church-wide technology and communication needs, capital resources utilized by our ministries, facility maintenance, and operating expenses.

53.3% — Pastoral Care, Welcome & Church Life

Incarnation is a community that enjoys fellowship, welcomes newcomers with genuine delight and stands ready to serve those in crisis every day of the week. Our church provides a robust pastoral care ministry offered by clergy and lay members to all those in our community. This includes support for members struggling with sickness or personal crisis. Our welcome ministry supports staff dedicated to introduction, education, and assimilation of guests and newcomers through a growing Incarnation 101 program. None of this would be possible without the support of ongoing operational needs.

18% — Worship

Incarnation offers vibrant liturgy and renowned traditional and contemporary music. Worship opportunities are offered at seven different services each Sunday, a Healing Service every Wednesday at noon, and Morning and Evening Prayer during the week. Parish commitments fund our clergy leadership, Sunday support staff and music program expenses.

17.5% — Serve

Through Incarnation’s robust mission and outreach ministries, the Church continues to reach out and support those beyond our campus by providing numerous opportunities to engage, inspire and equip every member of our parish to serve the needy locally and internationally. Your support allows us to continue our work with organizations such as Hearts & Hammers, Austin Street Center and the growing needs of our public neighborhood schools. In addition, we will continue to care for our own ministries such as the Dick Granger Ministry and mission trips to Belize and Honduras.

11.2% — Growth

We deepen our relationship with God and one another through quality Christian teaching programs. Your gifts provide resources to adequately fund staff and supplies for our expanding adult, student and children’s programs, including Godly Play, adult and youth classes offered on Sunday and weekdays, Bible studies, growth groups, baptism and confirmation classes and vibrant fellowship groups.
