I’m told I was an unruly two-year old at my baptism. Apparently my brother had convinced me I’d be drowned. Thank goodness for the fleeting memory of children—since then, I’ve more than 50 years attending traditional Episcopal services.

A few years ago when I was going through a tough life transition, a friend invited me to join her family for Easter services at Incarnation. I was looking to rebuild the foundation upon which I was raised, and Incarnation provided a familiar base for those values and beliefs.

I’m inspired by the loving and inclusive nature of the membership and the clergy. The beauty of each sanctuary is incredibly moving. Just being in them, I feel closer to God. While I’ve always found the music and formality of traditional services comforting, I find the contemporary service more casual and convenient these days.

I love that Incarnation has so many ways to worship, opportunities for fellowship, and a strong community outreach ministry. The community health fair is a favorite, and I’ve become a repeat participant on the Belize mission trips. Hard as I try, I’ve always felt I get more out of volunteering that I could ever give!
