Family: Lenten Prayer Tree
Beginning Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday, pick up your Lenten Prayer Tree pack at one of the Prayer Stations in the Great Hall or upstairs in the Education Building (while supplies last).
Set up your tree in a focal place in your home.
Included in your packet are weekly Prayer Cards & Scriptures. Each Sunday read the Scripture together as a family and talk about it. The prayer on the card can be your family prayer for the week or you can use your own. Attach the prayer card to your tree.
Throughout Lent use the included blue or silver tags to write:
– Prayers & Answers
– Praises to God
– Things you’re thankful for
– Something meaningful that happened during Lent
– Anything that reminds you of God’s work in your life
Talk about these things as a family.
For pre-writers, use the enclosed stickers to signify a prayer, praise, thanksgiving, etc.
By Easter Sunday, your barren Prayer Tree should be filled with beautiful reminders of how you’ve engaged with God during this Lenten season.
