Stories of Stewarding

This series on economic parables brings light to many of the same worries the early followers of Jesus had such as facing debts or striving to provide for our children. Jesus used these stories to reveal the kingdom of heaven and his promises for those who choose to follow him.

WHOM WILL YOU INVITE?

It is easy to take for granted our place at the great banquet the Lord is providing for us and to judge those who decline his invitation. The blessings of the kingdom are available to all who will come to Christ by faith. This parable calls us to love everyone – especially the poor and those who are in need of help.

We all organize our lives according to our income, but how do we measure success? The Parable of the Ten Minas (Luke 19:11-27) challenges us to think about trust and stewardship. It also warns us that God expects us to work with what we have and to be ambitious in our discipleship.
