Sacred music is one of the primary means by which we worship, love, and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
In our Traditional services, we offer the best of the Anglican choral tradition, with music led by the organ and the Incarnation Choir under the direction of our organists, Christopher Jacobson and Owen Reid. Music brings a new dimension to Christian worship, and the Scriptures offer many examples of the use of music to love and worship our Lord. Sacred music, in particular, has a unique ability to thin the veil between Earth and Heaven. By offering musical liturgies, it is our goal to give our best to God and to “worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” (Psalm 96:9)
The Incarnation Choir sings for the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. traditional services each Sunday, as well as 5 p.m. Choral Evensong during the academic year (September through May).
The Incarnation Choir, comprised of 14 professional singers and a core of volunteers, maintains a vigorous singing schedule, including more than 125 choral services per year, as well as concerts and special events.
Spanning nearly 1,000 years of music, the choir’s repertoire ranges from Gregorian chant to works of the present day. Their eight-recording discography most recently features Choral Evensong for Eastertide. The choir has been heard on Public Radio International and on BBC Radio 3’s Choral Evensong, and has commissioned and premiered works by many of today’s foremost composers.
The Incarnation Choir has toured extensively throughout the United Kingdom and the United States, including residencies at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, Westminster Abbey, York Minster, Washington National Cathedral, St. Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons from 1:45 to 3:45 p.m. Contact Rachel Jones for more information.
The Accelerated Chorister Program is a wonderful way for choristers to make new friends, build confidence through music, stay connected to church life, and develop faith through song.
Enrollment is now open for our Accelerated Chorister Program for students interested in singing, making new friends and learning about choral music. The program is open to boys, grades 3—8 and girls, grades 5—12. At Incarnation, we teach more than just music skills; our training can be an essential part of a child's formation.
The Incarnation Concert Series presents world-class choirs and instrumentalists, featuring weekly Tuesday Bach’s Lunch concerts and an evening series showcasing some of the finest ensembles from around the globe. We invite you to join us and experience these exceptional performances in person.
