Roseland Reading @ Headstart
Local
Head Start of Greater Dallas provides no-cost childcare, extended social services, preventative health and prenatal education services to the parents of infants and toddlers. There are currently eleven Early Head Start centers that provide services to more than 240 infants and toddlers in Dallas. In our very own neighborhood, across the highway is the Roseland Head Start that serves children ages 0-5, most of which come from the Roseland Community.
We have an opportunity to instill a culture of literacy in our youngest neighbors, by reading to students ages 1-5, during the school year from 9 a.m. – noon. This is extremely flexible, as you can customize your commitment to your availability. The staff is happy with whatever you can do.
The only requirement to volunteer is to fill out an application and give your permission for a background check.
Email Jameshia McBiggers at Head Start to learn more and to volunteer.
