Holy Week & Easter 2026

Church of the Incarnation • Dallas, TX

You're Invited to our Holy Week Services

At Church of the Incarnation in Dallas, we gather in worship each week in the Great Tradition of the Church — and during Holy Week, our worship becomes the heart of the Christian year. Join us for Holy Week worship services — from Palm Sunday and the Sacred Triduum of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil, through Easter Sunday worship and celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

These Holy Week services invite you into the story of Jesus’ final days on earth and the joy of His risen life. Whether you are exploring faith, returning to church, or celebrating with family, all are welcome to walk with us through this sacred week of prayer, devotion, confession, and thanksgiving.

The Triduum

The “Three-Day” liturgies of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil (Saturday) form the sacred heart of Holy Week. These services trace the final days of Jesus Christ — from the Last Supper to the cross and ultimately to the joy of the Resurrection — drawing us into the mystery of Christ’s saving work through word, sacrament, silence, and song.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, April 2

The Triduum begins with the Maundy Thursday liturgy, when we remember the institution of the Holy Eucharist, Christ’s commandment to love one another, and his humble service in the washing of feet. As the altar is stripped and the church grows quiet, we follow Jesus to the Garden of Gethsemane and prepare our hearts for the solemn events of Good Friday.

SERVICE TIMES:

  • 12 p.m., Spoken Eucharist (Memorial Chapel)
  • 7 p.m., Holy Eucharist with Foot Washing & Stripping of the Altar
    • Traditional (Main Church) Livestream Available
    • Contemporary (Ascension Chapel) Livestream Available
    • Childcare offered (birth to 5 yrs)

Good Friday

Friday, April 3

On Good Friday, we gather for worship centered on the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we read the Gospel account of his suffering and death, offer solemn collects, and venerate the cross, we remember that Christ’s sacrifice is the sign of God’s redeeming love for the world — life given for us in the midst of death.

SERVICE TIMES:

  • 12 p.m., Veneration of the Cross
    • Traditional (Main Church) Livestream Available
    • Childcare offered (birth to 5 yrs)
  • 6 p.m., Veneration of the Cross
    • Traditional (Main Church)
    • Contemporary (Ascension Chapel) Livestream Available
    • Childcare offered (birth to 5 yrs)

Holy Saturday

Saturday, April 4

The Easter Vigil marks the culmination of Holy Week and the beginning of Easter. In the darkness, we kindle new fire and proclaim the light of Christ. Through Scripture, prayer, and the celebration of Holy Baptism, we rejoice that death has been overcome and that Jesus Christ is risen indeed. Bells ring and we sing “Alleluia!” — the first celebration of Easter.

SERVICE TIMES:

  • 8-10:30 p.m., Easter Vigil, Baptisms, and the First Eucharist of Easter
  • No childcare offered

ALTAR OF REPOSE - KEEP WATCH AND PRAY

After the Maundy Thursday service, we invite you into a time of prayer and adoration at the Altar of Repose. Following Christ’s example in Gethsemane to “watch and pray,” this sacred vigil continues from the end of the Maundy Thursday liturgy through the morning of Good Friday.

Keep Watch at the Altar of Repose

Sign up to participate in one-hour prayer intervals and enter more deeply into silent contemplation of Jesus’ love and sacrifice. This treasured tradition of Holy Week prayer at the Altar of Repose welcomes all who seek a place of peace, reflection, and spiritual connection.
