We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations to serve on the Discernment Committee in search of the next Rector of Church of the Incarnation. The Discernment Committee will be tasked with:

    1. Conducting in-depth research on the state of the parish through a survey
    2. Developing an understanding of the requirements and priorities for our next Rector
    3. Developing a set of candidates for the position, evaluating candidates and eventually extending a call to whomever we believe God has led us to hope might be our next Rector

Nominations are open from Tuesday, July 21 – Monday, August 31, 2026.

Here’s everything you need to know about serving on the committee and completing the nomination form.

Affirmation of Availability for Service in the Rector Discernment Committee

Service on the Rector Discernment Committee is a serious commitment of time and energy. We plan to fill this committee with parishioners who are faithful, committed to the life, worship, tradition, and future of the parish, and able to collaborate as a team. The committee will prayerfully administer a parish survey, listen to our community, draft our parish profile and interview prospective candidates to serve as the next Rector of Church of the Incarnation. We anticipate 5-10 hours per week devoted to this activity plus several weekends, including a committee retreat and travel to visit potential candidates. While the time frame is uncertain, the commitment may be up to 18 months. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed by the church.

Submitting the nomination form for participation on the committee is an affirmation that the applicant understands the time commitment requirements for participation in the work of this committee and, if selected, will commit the time required for the exercise of such duties as a member of the Rector Discernment Committee, including meetings, travel, telephone conferences, significant amounts of reading, individual tasks as assigned, and other duties of the committee.

Additionally, the work of the Rector Discernment Committee is undertaken in the strictest confidence, and by submitting this form, the applicant will commit to keeping all confidences for life.

    Nomination Form and Process

We are accepting nominations from Tuesday, July 21 through Monday, August 31. The final Rector Discernment Committee Members will be announced no later than the end of September 2026.

Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP, p. 818
