"Praise God from whom all blessings flow.” These words open the Doxology during services as the gifts of the congregation are brought to the altar. Each time we sing them, I am struck by how profoundly true they are, and what they mean for all of us. When we first came to this parish, we were simply looking for a place to worship. What we found instead was a true church home—a place that has actively formed, shaped, and nurtured our family in faith. So much of our family's story was written right here.
While Elizabeth and Will are no longer under our roof week to week, every single corner of this building holds a cherished memory of our time together. Elizabeth has grown up, moved away, and started a family of her own, but it is a profound joy when we all return to Incarnation to worship together during the holidays. And it was such a blessing to have Will back sitting in the pews with us just a few weeks ago.
When Stephen and I look back at our life as a family, we recognize that Church of the Incarnation is one of the greatest blessings God has ever poured out upon us. That is why we joyfully participate in this stewardship campaign. Pledging is our tangible way of singing the Doxology with our finances. It is how we acknowledge that everything we have belongs to God, and it is how we ensure that this sacred space continues to form and develop other families for generations to come.
