ST. THOMAS LEIPZIG CONCERT

Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 7:30 p.m.

With its almost 800-year history, St Thomas Boys Choir is the oldest cultural institution in Leipzig. Famous choirmasters such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Hermann Schein, Johannes Kuhnau and Johann Adam Hiller helped to make the choir world-famous. The heart of the choir's musical work is the sacred music in the services and motets in St Thomas' Church. Oratorios, passions and masses by Bach can also be heard regularly from the choir. They also perform sacred vocal music, madrigals and secular a cappella works from the Renaissance to the present day.

ST. JOHN PASSION

Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025 at 4 p.m.

In 1724 Johann Sebastian Bach set the Passion Story of Christ to music as told in the Gospel of John. He first performed it at Vespers on Good Friday, two days before Easter. Just over 300 years later, Incarnatus and orchestra will present this marvelous work on Palm Sunday afternoon to begin Holy Week at Church of the Incarnation.
