Good Books & Good Talk
Join us for a seminar with the Rev. Canon Victor Lee Austin, Ph. D. on The Warden by Anthony Trollop. This miniature classic is the first of Trollope’s justly famous Barchester novels. Written in 1855, The Warden takes the reader into the nooks and crannies of clergy life in the Church of England, of village and cathedral city, of the power of politicians and the press. The slow development of the warden’s determination to act decisively and rightly makes this a delightful moral tale. In the seminar, Fr. Austin will ask a question designed to open up the text for discussion. Everyone will have a chance to speak, but no one will be required to do so.
