Contrary to other authorities, Jesus is both merciful and mighty; he sees our plight and is able to do something about it. While his authority is trustworthy, we remain reluctant to trust in any authority beyond ourselves.  Can we join the leper and the Centurian in turning to the good and powerful end of all authorities?
