Children's Sunday School Teacher

In the Church

Children discover and explore Biblical stories and our Anglican worship through the use of specially designed materials they are able to touch and feel. They are invited to respond creatively and then gather again to enjoy a feast.

Children begin to understand the fundamentals of the Christian faith through this year-long class that focuses on baptism, prayer, and service. The last third of the year culminates in preparation for First Communion.

Each lesson the children are introduced to Bible characters and their stories through watching an animated video. The children discuss what happened and how they feel about the story they just saw. Then, they open their Bibles and explore the day’s story, and reflect on the Bible story through hands-on activities or games using their learner leaflet.

Throughout the year, children will study five Old Testament and five New Testament units. Each lesson, the children will start by watching an animated video that exposes a key biblical theme, use their Bibles as they search for passages that relate to the theme, and make associations to their own lives through activities.
